Not worth even the kindle price.

I got this book as a lark on my kindle, basically test-driving it before I considered buying it. Though the images inside weren't as bad as some that I've seen in these "publish-it-yourself" art books (that's not saying anything, as those I've seen have mostly had horrible reproductions) the images are still of only nominal resolution, with many being lower-res than I can find of the same images on Zorn's Wikipedia Commons page. You get some with little crop/zooms of details of the image, yet for the most part the resolution quality is mediocre at best. Though the images may faithfully keep Zorn's colors, because of the low resolution you miss his beautifully efficient brush-strokes, which is actually what I love most about Zorn's work.

I actually recommend two routes, one cheaper the other pricier: either collect Zorn's work online, as it's all generally in the public domain and so it's all proliferated pretty commonly, or just invest in one of the higher-end Zorn artbooks.

A basic textbook on Private Security systems and groups.

I had to use this book on an introduction to private security groups and security systems texts. The author dies a very good job in conveying the history of private security to some of the roles and tasks a private security company would be required to do in the US. Some of the laws that they have to deal with and where or how their privileges start or stop. The book goes further into some of the roles and missions a typical private security officer will be working, from the modern day private investigator for a company to doing things like governmental security processes such as being party to things like infrastructure security or government building security. The only downside to this book is that it is specifically written towards a USA student and examination of the laws. Additionally, some of the roles and missions of private security has changed over the years with groups operating overseas and some companies providing high value bodyguard services for some corporations while overseas, means that there should be some expansion of those roles in what is and isn't private security companies or even what creates a private military contractor vs private security.

"Introduction to Private Security", by Karen Hess and Henry Wrobleski, was published in 1996 but holds up extremely well as a basic but comprehensive introduction into the expanding field of private and corporate security.

In a series of well-organized and easy-to-read chapters, Hess and Wrobleski lay out the historical and legal basis for private security, its principles, methods, and techniques, and the threat environment in which it operates. Coverage includes chapters dedicated to industrial, retail, commercial, and institutional security, as well as sections on violence in the workplace and dealing with the media. Each chapter includes study questions and thought pieces to test understanding and retention.

If this textbook has a shortfall, it is that the information security and terrorist threats to private industry have become much more robust since 1996. Hess and Wrobleski address the topics, but instructors on private security may wish to work in supplemental materials on these particular threats. These cautions noted, this textbook is highly recommended for use in teaching and understanding the basics of private and corporate security.

Who do you want to be?

It doesn't matter how brilliant, educated, or artistically gifted you are; if you live in a cluttered environment, it is hard to be productive, feel relaxed and be inspired. The toothbrush principle Sheila Chandra proposes is marked by simplicity and effectiveness: clarify your vision, create a system based on how and where you do what you do, discern what is important, adopt a routine to maintain it. Voila!

As a mentor/life coach and former Professional Organizer (Less Cargo), I can attest to the effectiveness of the principles outlined in this book. Beyond practical advice on how to go about the (possibly overwhelming) task of straightening out your physical space, Sheila asks some probing questions to encourage the reader to find out what lies at the base of the clutter problem. "Who do you want to be?" Seems like a big question for a seemingly `little' topic such as de-cluttering, but it's at the core of any lasting shift. "One of the most common ways of stopping yourself achieving something that you really desire, but which actually challenges or scares you a little too much, is to make your space and time so disorganised that you don't create that thing in your life. Helped me find the Zen space I always wanted..

A fantastic book. It really feels as though Sheila holds your hand all the way. I thought I didn't have any clutter until I read it. I loved the in depth understanding of our relationship with our possessions and all the reasons we cling on to stuff, this helped me clear out a load of things I was only keeping out of guilt and which held a negative energy for me. It is such a relief and revelation to clear out to this degree.

I feel so much gratitude to this book it has given me permission to let go and risk making the mistake of letting go of something I might need but probably wont. The feeling of freedom is amazing. Which reminds me of one of my favorite quotes "every unnecessary possession is a restriction on your freedom." The only thing I will say is NEVER ever get rid of your juicer you need this to cleanse the toxic clutter and waste that resides in your body and prevents your body from healing itself, a juicer is as important as a hoover. I also feel teenagers need a clutter free space so they can function, get ready for school and do their home work, I tried letting my daughter have the option to not tidy her room and she got is such a state and ended up constantly missing the bus because she couldn't find her books and uniform in the morning......so I have to hold a boundary with her on this, for her own good. But something I noticed is when I started clearing out the whole house my daughter got the bug and started clearing out a load of clutter from her room too.......a miracle!!

I love this book and 100% recommend it, I feel it has helped me reach the Zen space I have been dreaming of in my home....Thank you Sheila.

Sheila Chandra has transformed herself from a well-known and award-winning indi-pop vocalist and musician with a dozen CDs to her name, to an effective guide for transforming the clutter in your life. Her book is as effective as her music for changing your environment. If you suffer from piles of clutter around you (like I do), this is the cure. When you've completed her recommendations, your life will look and feel different -- more open and free. She follows the well-known principle that anything out of place causes a tiny bit of your attention to "stick" to it. So every single thing you put away or throw away releases that tiny bit of attention back to you. You then have more attention, which you can use to tackle the next project, or take better care of yourself. This book is a life saver. Go transform yourself!

Interesting book but it's not all about Bowie

This is a really interesting book about the highs and lows of being on a major year long tour in the late 1970s. Long before the Serious Moonlight tour changed how the game is played. First class travel and high end parties one day, crappy hotels and seedy bars the next. What is unusual and interesting is the constant search for casual sex which runs through the book, with females, but mostly males. It's not done in a seedy way but don't buy if this type of thing bothers you. Also if you are expecting the majority of the book to be about the actual shows and Bowie then again this isn't for you. The shows are discussed and it's interesting but it's mainly in passing (also the photos aren't anything special). It's clear that Bowie enjoyed Sean Mayes company and Mayes admired Bowie hugely and there is lots of interesting anecdotes of time they spent together and how Bowie handled his fans. If nothing else it made we want to break out my copy of Stage and give it a spin.

This is an intriguing view of David Bowie's life when on tour in 1978. It is an view most people do not get to see. It is especially interesting to see who he was then prior to his mega wealth, but at a very popular point in his career. A must for an avid David Bowie fan.

I got the books however your picture above shows the first printing. I got a cheaper version of a reprint. Some sites I visited showed the reprinted version. I selected your site thinking I would get the earlier version. I had some but not all of the first printing. Wanted to fill in the missing books. Try some place else next time where you can actually go and pick it off of a shelf. First and last on-line order!

Also since the order I have got nothing but junk mail from sites I could give a crap about. Time to change the ole email address again!!

INSANE lol

Great book, insight into Vinnies playing = priceless. I love this book. It really breaks down Vinnies playing - all the odd note values (for example) quintuplets, septuplets, etc and how he uses them / orchestrates them around his drum set. I still cant figure out how in the heck anyone could actually (accurately) transcribe Vinnies playing - its too complex for me too figure out. THANKFULLY it has been done by Marc Atkinson.

This book is great, it really does get into Vinnies playing and shows you conceptually where (alot / some) of his ideas are coming from. Definately ADVANCED material, but very refreshing, creative and eye opening - not to mention inspiring.

If you like Vinnies playing and want insight into it, look no further, it is right here in this book.

Great workbook and a MUST for any serious minded drummer

I only became aware of Vinnie recently playing with Jeff Beck on Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival and again on live at Ronnie's. How I was not aware of him before this I have no idea. He's incredible and the work book and CD's are fantastic tools. I only wish I had known about him and it a long time ago.

Difficult but good.

This is really for the very dedicated drummer who is prepared to work on extremely hard exercises. Vinnie Colaiuta is probably one of a very few who could play all these exercises, which he demonstrates on the two accompanying discs. The tracks of him playing on the Randy Waldman "Unreel" that comes with the book is worth the price alone.

This manual is absolutely amazing! Aileen has such a gift for opening up the supernatural realms of God that we as sons and daughters have every right to access in the spirit. My understanding of and relationship with the Lord has grown so much from these lessons!!!

Hi beautiful people of GOD I took a class with Aileen she is a great teacher :) this book is very helpful, with it you will understand easily what is soaking it has practical excercises :) thats what i love about it, have u ever been at those classes that they only talk and talk and u never get a chance to apply what u learned well this book is totally diferent cause it gives u guidance so u can apply what u are learning, i encourage you to also find a class too cause its really fun and relaxing, you can also share what your learn with some friends and your will get a deeper knowledge of who JESUS is :) be blessed with this book and do your prayers daily :)

No answers to chapter review questions?

Let me start by saying I took my boards 11 years ago and only purchased this book as a resource to study for the CSCE portion of NERB, so I can obtain my licensure in another state. I do not have to take the boards again, but if I did and purchased this book for that purpose, I would be even more upset. The website listed does not have answers for the review questions to the 7th edition yet - only the 6th. The questions for the 6th obviously are different than the 7th edition. I realize this book was published about a month ago, with that said, I still feel like the online portion of the text should be up and running as soon as the book is available for purchase (that is the abridged version of this review).

I LOVE Mosby's review and it was definitely my study bible when I was studying for my written boards in 2000, so figured getting an updated version would be a smart move. The CSCE is not nearly as difficult as the boards, but being I took my written over 11 years ago, just wanted to brush up on materials. I started reading over the material this morning and when I went to work on the review questions, noticed the answers were not there and could only be found online. First of all, I am all about modern day conveniences and I am online more than I should be (thanks to my iphone), but I have a toddler and trying to study for this test while home with her is impossible enough. I bought an actual book so I can take it with me to the park or the gym - I personally do not want to have to look the answers up on a website (which of course is not even just a simple [...], rather [...]). Seriously? Anyhow, I digress. When I finally have a moment to look up the answers I am shocked to find that THEY ARE STILL IN THE PROCESS OF ADDING THIS PORTION OF THE 7TH EDITION!!!!!! Trying to find answers to questions online was already considered an inconvenience for me, so you could imagine how I felt when the website states they are still working on the 7th edition study materials. So now, I paid full price for the newest edition of a book that I really did not need but felt compelled to purchase because I am a hygienist (obviously Type A) and HAD to have the most updated information so I can review for the CSCE. Of course, I could look up the answer one by one, but did I mention I have a toddler? Not happening! Should have bought a used 6th edition on Amazon for a fraction of the cost!!

So, now I have to call the publisher and see how I can acquire an answer key! Great!!! Can not wait!!

I am giving the book 2 stars because the content itself is very helpful. If the answers to the study questions were available, I would give the book 5 stars!!! If someone affiliated with this book can somehow help me, please do!!!

Way too much information

I am getting ready for the board exams and needed something to summarize the material. Unfortunately, summarizing is something I did not get. The information is written in organized way, but includes topics that are not needed. Some topics are discussed too deeply. Although it is a decent book to prepare for the boards, I would not use it as a primary source.

This is a great book with lots of information. It took the company a couple of months to register the book. Once you register your book online the answers are under resources. I'm glad I bought the newer edition.
